Picture Day Chair– serve as the point of contact for our PTA and our photography vendor. Partner with our on-site parent volunteer for 2019 pictures and help us deliver a successful school picture experience! This position can be done from home/via email and would be a great fit for a detail oriented parent.
- Dates for 2019/2020 are 9/24, 11/6, & 2/18. Need a chair for 2019 to take the reigns from last year’s chair. We have a day-of parent volunteer, but need a parent who can coordinate all other tasks.
Welcome/New Families Chair – spearhead this committee focused on our newest Wildcat families. Assist our PTA in creating and implementing a buddy/mentor program for “new to Windsor” families; to help them acclimate to our school.
School Board Liaison – attend and advocate for Windsor at one or more of our district school board meetings. This can be shared by more than one volunteer and/or can be as you are able to attend basis. Report back the latest school board happenings via email or in person at a PTA meeting. School Board meetings are typically monthly, their calendar can be found here (https://www.sd25.org/domain/41).
Junior Great Books Lead – lead this committee focused on reading enrichment via the Junior Great Books program. Partner with a returning co-chair, coordinate with Windsor School, and parent volunteers to deliver this 8 week (Jan – Mar) program to 1st-5th grade students.
Reflections Art Program Local Rep – serve as the Windsor point person for the National PTA Reflections art competition. Manage and organize local submissions in Oct/Nov. Keep abreast of Reflections events activities throughout the year. Return projects to students at the end of the program (typically Jan). Most of this position can be done from home/via email.
Community Service/Windsor Cares Chair– This is our PTA’s community service focused committee, we are calling “Windsor Cares”. It’s the committee that formerly hosted the Linus Project and other favorite food drives. Role would include working with the executive committee to plan up to three (or as few as one) service projects that would benefit our local community. Events can be planned throughout the school year.
(FILLED) South MS Liaison – a sub-committee of the 5th Grade Committee. A great candidate for this role is a parent who also has a middle schooler at South. This volunteer with review our existing PTA document listing helpful tips and key information parents need to know for their child’s transition into 6th grade/South MS. This role can be done from home/via email.
Publicity – Be a point person to promote Windsor PTA activities to local newspapers and online news organizations. Together we can spread the work about the great things happening in our amazing Windsor community! This role can be done from home/via email.
(PENDING MEMBERSHIP VOTE) Variety Show – This event is pending full staffing/support (this is a large coordinated effort requiring many volunteers).
- Plan, organize, and deliver Variety Show to Windsor School (including auditions, possible need for callbacks, “dress rehearsal”/show during the school day to our Wildcats and a limited tickets evening performance). Several dedicated volunteers are needed to team up and manage this event; a minimum of 3-4 volunteers (Committee Lead, PR/Parent Communication, Tech/Backstage Manager, Show Manager). Availability during the school day may be necessary.
